When speaking about tents used to make temporary shelters while we are out in the wilderness it is necessary to have the proper type of tent that will suit your specific needs. A tent always comes in handy during the rainy season if we are camping during a vacation or safari. Before selecting and buying a particular tent we must make sure that we know almost all the types of tents that exist in this modern day world. Knowing about the types of tents that are available in the market will surely help you find the right type of tent that will suit your needs.
Usually all tents will have at least one pole to support the fabric or the skin, which is generally weather resistant. Generally the pole materials are rust free and very strong.

There are two types of tent schematics that are found very commonly when speaking about the types of tents based on the tent structures, the type of whether it is designed for, rigid fix or free standing. The most common type of tent is the pyramid tent and this kind of tent is very simple to pitch. In a pyramid tent you just need only one pole which acts like a pillar and the rest is all about the tent steaks.
Avian tents are also very popular; these tents require two poles. Unlike the pyramid type of tent avian tents covers more area than what pyramid does for a given sheet area. This kind of tent is usually employed for some quick cover from the rain and more prominent in rainy conditions and this type of tent has pervaded all through the area where the light weather conditions are more common.
One of the traditional tents is A frame tents which used to be very common in the eighties is still a favorite among the people who have the habit of camping now and then. A frame tents will require four or more poles to make an A shape at the two extremes and the necessary number of tent steaks to fix the fabric or the sheet on to the ground.
The other not so popular tent types are the hoop, dome and wedge tents, of these three tents the dome tents are preferred for multi-person residence as it gives more room than any other said tents. The strength of a dome tent is based on the number of poles used.
